Career
He received the B.E. degree from Seoul National University, Dept. of Mechanical Design and Production Engineering, Seoul, Korea, in 1993, and received M.Eng., and Ph.D. in Precision Machinery Engineering, from The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1995 and 1998, respectively. He has been an Associate Professor of Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, Japan since 2000. Sept. to 2014. April, and also co-director of CIRMM/CNRS in Paris since 2000.9 to 2004. March. Currently he is a Professor of IIS, The University of Tokyo.
From 1998 to 1999, he was a CNRS Associate Researcher for Microsensors, Nano-instruments for Nanotechnology in Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) / Laboratoire de Physique et Metrologie des Oscillateurs (LPMO) at Besancon. He worked also in research orientation NanoLink, MESA+ Research Institute, University of Twente as a Post-doc. His research interest is microsystems : MEMS(Micro-Electro Mechanical System) and Micro measurement(SNOM, SPM), development of microsensors and actuators, Nano-science using Micromachine technology, and Industrial applications of MEMS technology.
